Nos Llamamos “Bosques de Bernal”

In the course of (woa!) translating the entire text of our Proclamation for the Vassals of La Lengua into Spanish for the benefit of our Latino neighbors, Bernalwood reader Concerned Guajolote (Bienvenido!) has also done us the great service of providing a proper translation of this blog’s moniker:

Bosques de Bernal is exactly what you would call this neighborhood nowadays, everything in Mexico is now Bosques de Something or other, and the meaning is the same as Bernalwood.

So there you go.

  1. I am a huge fan of Telstar Logistics, if Modern Military Ruins of San Francisco were a song it would be Mother by John Lennon, it is the poignant Indiana Jones of flickr sets, a masterpiece.

BTW it should probably be “nos llamamos Bosques de Bernal”. It is a pretty workable translation and has real potential for exactly that whiff of superiority and exclusivity, and even geographic aloofness at the margin of another famous place, but with better views and nicer amenities, cars, and people, that you have captured with the name “Bernalwood.”
