Security Advisory for Potential Yellow Jacket Menace on Lower Cortland

Neighbor T. warns pedestrians traversing the south side of Cortland along the 100 block to be advised of a potential yellow jacket menace in the area:

Was just walking past today, and noticed a very active yellow jacket nest at 108 Cortland, just a foot or two from the sidewalk. Might want to advise people to avoid the area.

  1. Isn’t there a number to call for something like that?? Cuz that could be a potentially dangerous situation!

  2. 311 from your 415-area code cell phone will take care of that post haste.

I was doing some weeding in my backyard on Sunday, and felt something down by my outside left ankle, and it was a yellow jacket. It Didn’t sting, but it left pheromones, which cause itching. Fortunately the county has an abatement program, my neighbor had already called about nests in his yard, and yesterday a guy came out, donned a suit, and sprayed pyrethrum spray into the nests, which kills ’em.

    Yellow jackets are bad news.

  3. I am deeply upset by the naked vespulaphobia running rampant in Bernal Heights. Who knew that Bernal was the home of speciesism.
