Don’t let the recent rains fool you: Winter is over and we’re in store for longer, drier days. There’s no more sure sign of this than Bernal Hill itself, which is slowly making its seasonal color migration from green to brown, as visible in this photo taken last Sunday.

I have been told that it’s not brown, but “golden.”
Yes, I’ve also heard “blonde.”
I’m a fan of “golden” (and it’s one of my favorite colors ever), but I also thought that it was a normal summer thing until I was informed by my better half (from Back East) that it’s different elsewhere. Apparently, things die in the winter (brown) and thrive in the summer (green) in places with season. Whodathunk?? π One learns so much by leaving the bubble, although I’m eager to get back to it…
