Neighbor @luna_c snapped this shot today on the corner of Stoneman and Folsom, where a curb reconstruction project is underway. The bike was locked, but it was also spared… in the name of Progress and Improvement. Nicely done!

I’ve seen this a few other times in other parts of the city. I think it’s standard procedure for a lot of construction, perhaps there’s even a law out there somewhere preserving bikes?
Probably contractors have enough vandalism and theft problems without antagonizing bicyclists.
That’s a great photo and gave me a good laugh after a long day, thank you!
Nicely done, indeed! Major brownie points for Consideration and Creativity.
I drove by this corner the other day and saw the men working around the locked bike and wondered what they were going to do when it was time to pour the cement. Now I know the answer! Thanks for posting.
Drove by this the other day and was so impressed! Couldn’t quite understand why the bike was there in the first place – not outside a home or store, never seen a bike locked up there before. But I suppose I just never noticed until the bike was 8 feet in the air!
