Our friends over at SFist are running with a story about a strange fender-bender that happened today in the Castro District, resulting in the photo you see above. A Mini Cooper hit a Prius, and somehow the Mini ended up mounting the Prius from behind:
Meanwhile, Bernalwood has learned that the unfortunate owner of the Prius is a Citizen of Bernal Heights. Here’s how Neighbor David describes what happened:
We were dropping our daughter off at Castro MUNI this am, but the Mini rode up the side as we were about to, uhm, well … pull out.
Oh my.

This post just gave me Bernal wood
So, the outcome was as follows:
Tow truck eventually arrived, and lifted the mini-cooper slightly allowing me to back the Prius up.
Mini cooper appeared completely unscathed.
Prius had/has a dented front left panel, which was given an excellent temporary repair by a member of the Bernal Dads Racing Team http://www.facebook.com/BernalDadsRacing
The accident itself was at such low speeds, and so quiet that the above mentioned daughter didn’t even hear the impact or turn around, even though it happened <1 minute after she got out of the car.
No one was hurt, and I fear this uses up my 15 minutes of fame.
If this had occurred in the marina or in bernal would it have provoked a similar adolescent response?
Bernalwood is not at liberty to discuss counterfactuals.
Too glib. Gay people/neighborhoods aren’t a joke.
Bernalwood is not at liberty to stop turning the cute up too high.
No, as far as I can tell, the joke is comprised of humping cars. No word on whether they are gay or straight.
I love the comments about sex acts. It’s the Castro, folks – it’s what we do. It was just another messed up drunk Mini sprawled over a Prius in the middle of the street thinking they’re out of a porn movie lead- so drunk they forgot they didn’t have legs.
i agree with kd…besides it appears to be a sideswipe not a “mount” so the description was really pushing it.
