My children confiscated my sticker (plus another one), thereby fraudulently suggesting that they were old enough to have discharged their civic duty. Still, the sticker was a small price to pay to make up for the disappointment that occurred when they found out that “voting” was not the same thing as “boating.”
I was bummed to find that our polling place is no longer within the cozy confines of a neighbor’s garage. Instead we were sent to one of the local elementary schools.
